Maintenance Items
When it comes to bagpipe maintenance, the name of the game is in the efficiency of your instrument. Along with the large selection of items we have for sale - here is some advice on producing an efficient instrument from the Piper's DoJo:
- Start from the inside and work your way out.
- You guessed it! Start by making sure your bag is completely air-tight.
- Rub seasoning into all the nooks and crannies of your bag.
- Use Stock Corks to test to make sure you bag doesn't leak.
- If it does leak: re-tie the stocks using bag tie-in cord, apply more seasoning, or replace your blowpipe valve.
- Once the bag is air-tight, hemp all of your joints snugly.
- Always be sure to take care of your instrument, by brushing out moisture and occasionally oiling your blackwood.
- Then, it's just a matter of setting up your reeds [click here for reeds]!
 Keep your pipe clean, and get rid of moisture that causes cracks and aging.
